RAGBRAI Start and Finish Gallery

The beginning of RAGBRAI is the Missouri River.  This year we started in Glenwood, about 7 miles from the Missouri, so we rode back to it.  It's not required to do so, but traditionally, one starts RAGBRAI by dipping the rear wheel of the bicycle in the Missouri River.  Now I know why they call it the "Muddy Mo", there was mud up to my axle!   

The end of RAGBRAI is the Mississippi River, this year at Fort Madison.  Traditionally one dips the front wheel of the bicycle in the Mississippi to finish the ride.  Fortunately there was no mud.
